Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans seeks a Coding Educator Auditor to coordinate coding audits and education for inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory services. You will manage edit and denial queues, provide coding feedback, and prepare educational programs related to CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, and DRG reviews.

The role requires 5 years of physician/hospital coding experience with 2 years in audits, plus relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in physician and hospital coding.
• 2 years of coding audit experience preferred.
• Experience with cardiology coding is a plus.
• Familiarity with CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-PCS.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and coding compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review coding for accuracy and sequencing per ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT guidelines.
• Provide feedback and education to coding staff on coding completeness and accuracy.
• Manage coding edit queues and conduct retrospective reviews.
• Prepare audit results and training materials for system coding program.
• Assist leadership with performance improvement and staff education.
