Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking an experienced educator to enhance coding knowledge across providers and support staff. You will develop and deliver training programs, create training materials, and monitor data quality to ensure coding accuracy.

The role requires collaboration with clinical and billing teams to improve revenue cycle outcomes. Responsibilities include assessing provider education needs, producing handbooks and presentations, and ensuring compliance with government regulations.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Physician Coding/HIM and revenue cycle experience required.
• Experience in coding across multiple specialties preferred.
• CCA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC certifications required.
• Knowledge of clinical billing standards and government regulations.
• Ability to develop educational materials and training content.

Responsibilities

Assess the educational needs of providers regarding coding and documentation and direct development of effective regularly scheduled educational programs that meet provider needs and serve as the primary resource to providers for documentation and coding issues. Responsible for conducting coding and billing training programs for billing and coding specialists and providers. Creates presentations, develops learning material, handbook and other training materials. Conducts coding and data quality reviews and prepares complex reports as required. Assists when needed with auditing and monitoring of coding and billing activities for the providers employed by Piedmont Healthcare. Ensures all coding activities comply with clinical billing standards and government regulations.

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Physician Coding/HIM and Revenue Cycle experience Required
