Town of Gilbert is seeking a Code Inspector II to protect public health and safety through field enforcement of building and zoning codes. The role involves inspecting structures, investigating complaints, and documenting findings for reports and legal proceedings.
You will mentor junior inspectors and provide technical guidance on code interpretation, while working as part of the Inspections Division in a full-time, at-will role.

You're a sharp, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in protecting the health and safety of the community you serve. You're comfortable working independently in the field — walking a site, documenting a violation, or explaining code requirements to a frustrated property owner with patience and clarity. You have a knack for digging into ownership records, prior complaints, and municipal code to build a solid case, and you communicate what you find clearly, whether in a written report or on the witness stand. As a mentor to newer inspectors, you lead by example and bring consistency and calm authority to every caseload you touch.
