Job summary

The City of San Bruno seeks a Code Enforcement Manager to lead the division in Community Development, building and shaping the program from the ground up. You will hire two new Code Enforcement Officers and guide operations to ensure safe, compliant neighborhoods.

Expect to oversee governance, policy development, interdepartmental collaboration, and budget management while maintaining a strong focus on community relations and public safety.

Qualifications

  • Four (4) years of municipal code enforcement experience equivalent to Code Enforcement Officer II with supervisory duties.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Public Policy/Administration, or Legal Studies.
  • California Class C driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Certified Code Enforcement Officer (CCEO) designation and ICC Property Maintenance certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise Code Enforcement operations to meet goals with available resources.
  • Plan workloads, supervise staff, train, motivate, and evaluate personnel.
  • Develop procedures, schedules, and workflow to improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other departments and agencies; present programs to leaders and the public.
  • Prepare and administer the annual Code Enforcement budget; monitor expenditures.
  • Enforce Municipal Code, interpret codes, and advise stakeholders on compliance.
