Job summary

Office of Public Response in California seeks a Code Enforcement Supervisor to lead the code enforcement, neighborhood preservation and graffiti programs. You will supervise staff, align operations with department policies, and ensure safe, accurate work while maintaining records.

This role requires strong regulatory knowledge, supervisory experience, and the ability to coordinate with other agencies. A valid California driver’s license and completion of required training are required.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible full‑time experience in municipal code compliance or neighborhood revitalization activities.
• Two (2) years of increasingly responsible full‑time experience in municipal code compliance or neighborhood revitalization activities with a Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban studies, political science, police sciences, public administration, or related field.
• Valid class C California driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
• Completion of PC 832 Laws of Arrest course.
• Certified Basic and Advanced Code Enforcement Certificates from the Sacramento Training Center.
• Some coursework in mediation, arbitration and administrative law.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the work in code enforcement, neighborhood preservation and graffiti programs.
• Develop and implement department policies, programs and procedures; ensure safety, quality and accuracy; maintain records.
