Job summary

Sacramento County Department of Personnel Services, Employment Services Division, is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer Level I/II to conduct field investigations and enforce nuisance abatement, blight control, and zoning codes. The role involves preparing case files, notifying violators, and representing the County at hearings.

The position is flexibly staffed with two salary levels and requires a California driver license and a PC 832 certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Must have either 30 semester units with 9 in criminal justice, law enforcement, public/business administration, construction, planning, or related field.
• Or: One year of full-time, paid experience in public sector performing zoning enforcement, vehicle abatement, building inspection, environmental health inspection, or related activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations to ensure compliance with codes and nuisance abatement.
• Notify violators and prepare and maintain case files.
• Represent the County at hearings and maintain documentation.
