Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of journey-level experience in code enforcement inspection or equivalent.
• Knowledge of building, housing, zoning, and related codes and ordinances.
• Ability to read plans/specifications and to prepare detailed reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspect existing buildings, structures, and properties for conformity with codes.
• Enforce regulations and issue citations; abate nuisances where needed.
• Prepare correction notices and coordinate with other departments.
• Testify as an expert witness at hearings or in court when required.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare periodic reports.
