Larimer County is seeking a Code Compliance Inspector within the Community Development Department's Code Compliance division. The role supports safeguarding public health by inspecting properties, guiding owners toward voluntary compliance, and collaborating with planning, health, and legal teams.

The position involves on-site inspections, case management, and education to ensure adherence to land use and building codes, with typical hours Monday–Friday and occasional evening commitments.

Qualifikationen

• Must meet minimum age and experience requirements.
• 3 years in zoning/planning/building standards or 3 years in journey-level trades/contracting.
• ICC Building Inspection certification within 1 year of hire.
• CACEO basic certification within 2 years of hire.
• Valid driver’s license by date of hire.

Aufgaben

• Review and respond to concerns and complaints regarding potential code violations.
• Investigate alleged violations involving life safety, unpermitted construction, land use, and building codes.
• Conduct on-site inspections and special investigations to assess compliance.
• Manage cases, maintain documentation, and track compliance activities.
• Prepare Notices of Violation and set deadlines for compliance.
• Enforce land use and building code regulations.
• Educate residents and property owners about code requirements and life-safety considerations.
• Coordinate recording of required documents with the Clerk & Recorder.
