Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in code enforcement or similar position such as inspections or neighborhood coordination.
• Valid Texas Driver's License or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Registered as a Code Enforcement Officer with the State of Texas within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs field investigations for alleged violations; notifies property occupants of various violations; researches public databases; provides information on ordinances and compliance; maintains right-of-ways free of bandit signs.
• Coordinates abatements with contract vendors; initiates work orders; handles billing notices; submits invoices for payment.
• Refers cases to City Attorney; prepares case files for litigations; monitors evidences and follows up with attorney.
• Makes changes to the code enforcement system; submits monthly reports; ensures tracking and efficiency are up to date.
