Job summary

The City of Nampa is seeking a Code Compliance & Community Relations Officer I to perform inspections across commercial, industrial, and residential properties to ensure code compliance with ordinances and building codes. The role involves collaboration with city staff and the public, with potential for varied hours.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, plus a valid Idaho driver’s license. Salary ranges from $21.71 to $25.01 per hour, DOE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience explaining public rules and regulations or equivalent training.
• Ability to operate a PC and learn new software quickly.
• Valid State of Idaho Driver’s License and 21+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Receives and responds to complaints regarding zoning violations and city code violations to obtain compliance.
• Researches property ownership, variances, use permits, and documents; maintains inspection records.
• Assist in abatement of hazards or public nuisances and support city legal staff as needed.
• Interprets and explains codes and compliance conditions to owners and interested parties.
