Job summary

City of Nampa hires a Code Compliance & Community Relations Officer I to perform inspections for commercial, industrial and residential properties, ensuring adherence to ordinances and building codes. You will collect records, research ownership and variances, and assist on enforcement actions as required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience explaining public rules and regulations or equivalent training.
• Ability to operate a computer and learn software used for assigned tasks.
• Valid Idaho Driver’s License and 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform code inspections for commercial, industrial, and residential properties to ensure compliance with ordinances and building codes.
• Maintain records of inspections and correspondence; research property ownership and variances.
• Issue citations for non-compliance and assist City legal staff as needed.
• Explain codes and compliance conditions to property owners and interested parties.
• Collaborate with police, fire, building, and other City staff on code compliance efforts.
