Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC seeks a Coax Splicer to join our telecom construction team in Maple Grove, MN. You will splice coaxial networks for internet, cable TV, and phone services, performing tasks both aerially and underground.

The role requires 6 months of coax splicing or 1 year in telecom, valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam. We offer comprehensive benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• Valid State driver’s license with good driving record.
• Must pass DOT physical exam and obtain a medical card.
• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year in telecom.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate work at different heights, from underground to aerial.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

What You’ll Do

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry

Additional Qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work in confined space, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles

The wage range for Coax Splicer Maple Grove is $25.00 - $37.00.
