Job summary

Communications Construction Group, LLC is seeking a Coax Splicer to join our field crew. You will splice coaxial networks for internet, cable TV, and telephone services and perform post-installation testing and troubleshooting.

The role requires coax splicing experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a DOT medical exam. You will work at heights, in aerial and underground environments, with opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• Six months coax splicing experience or one year in the telecommunications industry.
• Must pass DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card.
• Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Able to pass physical requirements and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work in confined space, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles

The wage range for Coax Splicer - Hanover is$18.00 - $30.00.
