Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under supervision of CIP Level 2/3. You will verify surface prep to SSPC/NACE standards, record ambient conditions, measure film thickness, and document each step on tanks, steel, pipe, and concrete.

AMPP CIP Level 1 certification required; 1+ year in coatings inspection; comfortable around blasting and spray operations; meticulous with instruments and records.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation per SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing and pot life.
• Maintain daily inspection log and photograph each stage.
