Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under supervision. Responsibilities include verifying surface prep to SSPC/NACE standards, recording ambient conditions, measuring film thickness, and documenting each stage of coating application on tanks, structures, pipes, and concrete.

CIP Level 1 certification is required. You will work with a senior inspector, maintain logs, and ensure accurate records for compliance and

Qualifications

• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current.
• Comfort working around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions (temp, humidity, dew point) before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to specified SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness; check for holidays and defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life against data sheet.
• Keep daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of work.
