Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic coating inspections under a CIP Level 2/3 inspector's direction on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete. You will verify SSPC/NACE surface prep, measure ambient conditions and surface profile, check wet and dry film thickness, and document every step of coating application.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification (current).
• At least 1 year in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfort working with tanks, structures, blasting and spray ops.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
