Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform the basic inspection of protective coating work under the direction of a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector. You will verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE standards, measure ambient conditions and surface profile, and document each step on tanks, structural steel, pipe and concrete.

Pay ranges $30 to $40 per hour depending on certifications, experience, and the program; travel and per diem are common as sites vary, and growth

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification required and current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Document coatings process and maintain daily inspection logs with photographs.
