Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under the direction of a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector. You will verify surface preparation against SSPC/NACE standards, measure ambient conditions and surface profile, and document each step of the coating application on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

AMPP Coating Inspector Program Level 1 certification is required.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification, current.
• 1+ year in industrial coatings inspection.
• Willing to work around tanks, blasting and spray operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check holidays/ defects.
• Keep daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of work.
