Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections of protective coating work under a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector's direction. You will verify surface prep against SSPC/NACE standards, measure film thickness, and document coating activity on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

You must hold AMPP CIP Level 1 certification, have 1+ year experience in industrial coatings, and be meticulous with gauges and logs.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification is required.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Verify surface preparation per SSPC/NACE standards.
• Measure ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point).
• Measure wet/dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Keep daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of work.
