Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector. You will verify surface prep against SSPC/NACE standards, measure ambient conditions, surface profile, and document every step of the coating process on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

The role requires AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and at least 1 year in industrial coatings application or inspection.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records; honest readings.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing and pot life.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
