Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections under a CIP Level 2/3 supervisor. You will verify surface prep, measure film thickness, log ambient conditions, and document every stage of coating on tanks, structures, and pipelines.

The role requires current AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and 1+ year of industrial coatings experience, with travel to project sites as needed. Accurate data capture and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness and check for holidays and defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life against datasheets.
• Keep the daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
