Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections of protective coating work under the direction of a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector in Tulsa, OK. Responsibilities include measuring ambient conditions, verifying surface prep to SSPC/NACE standards, and documenting every step of coating application on tanks and structures.

The role requires AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and at least 1 year in industrial coatings inspection.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting/spray operations
• Meticulous with instruments and records
• Honest about what the gauge reads

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) before and during application
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standard
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness; check holidays/defects
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing and pot life against datasheet
• Keep daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of the work
