Job summary

Andersen Corporation is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Coatings Engineering team in Bayport, MN. You will drive continuous improvements across coating lines, tackle equipment issues, and partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to deliver reliable processes.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree (chemical preferred), strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in Engineering (chemical engineering preferred).
  • Strong aptitude in problem solving using analytical tools, making process improvements and technical writing.
  • Strong communication and project management skills with ability to work in a cross functional team environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with quality systems, statistical process control, process capability and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Desire to continue to grow and develop personally.
  • Ability to travel typically less than 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Process Engineer in our Bayport plant, supporting multiple coating lines.
  • Respond to day-to-day production needs such as equipment troubleshooting and quality concerns.
  • Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to drive improvements within the value-stream through new process and technology development.
  • Develop and execute improvements in alignment with strategic vision of modernizing equipment, people, and processes.
  • Manage the design, procurement, and startup of capital equipment projects.
  • Create training tools, documents and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability.

Primary responsibilities are to drive department and enterprise key initiatives through continuous process improvement, improving customer satisfaction, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes.
