Job summary

Andersen Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer II to design and implement manufacturing processes across the enterprise on medium to large projects. You will lead with integrity, partnering with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance and supply chain to drive improvements.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree and 3+ years of engineering experience with mechanical aptitude, plus strong project management, lean, and quality systems knowledge; hybrid work with travel.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or Technology is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience with mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Equipment procurement and capital project experience is required.
  • Project management skills are expected.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is required.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability.
  • 2D & 3D solid modeling knowledge (AutoCad/Inventor) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams on commercialization and start-up of new equipment and processes.
  • Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance and supply chain to drive improvements.
  • Interface with design, product engineering, supply chain and other partners on manufacturability and process capability.
  • Provide informed recommendations regarding design viability for new or current processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, kaizens and Process System Design events.
  • Develop specifications to procure production equipment or complete production lines.
  • Create training tools, documents and SOPs for production processes.
  • Introduce new perspectives to improve production and material flow.
  • Work independently on small projects or portions of larger projects.

Candidates for this position should possess a strong technical background with the desire to be a change agent and have the energy and passion to improve both our production and functional processes while leading with integrity.JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:Support project teams on the successful commercialization and start-up of new equipment and processes.Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to drive improvementsInterface with design, product engineering, supply chain, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability and process capability of new products or product extensions.Provide informed recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processes.Participate/facilitate cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events.Demonstrate strong knowledge of DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Plans.Develop specifications to procure production equipment and/or complete production lines.Partner with the Safety group to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements.Create training tools, documents and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability.Introduce new perspectives on existing solutions to continuously improve production and material flow processes.Work independently within areas of responsibility on small projects or in coordination with others over portions of larger projects.QUALIFICATIONS:4-year degree in Engineering or Technology requiredMinimum of 3 years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitudeEquipment procurement and capital project experience requiredProject management skillsKnowledge of Lean manufacturing principlesKnowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capabilityPositive attitude with a desire to build relationships and serve both our internal and external customersStrong, proactive communicator, effective both 1:1 and in groupsKnowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)This is a hybrid role with approximately 25% travel.**This role is available in either Cottage Grove, Minnesota or Locust Grove, Georgia.VISA SPONSORSHIP: At this time, we are not sponsoring candidates for work authorization in this position.
