Job description

As a Coating Foreman in Tampa, FL, you will be the direct line of communication between the superintendent and field craft. This role demands outstanding communication abilities and a comprehensive understanding of all field tasks and processes. You must possess the ability to effectively communicate with owners, vendors, and other contractors. This involves clearly conveying project objectives, timelines, and progress updates, as well as addressing any concerns or questions that may arise.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Effectively communicate expectations for daily work activities to each team member.
• Identify where & when to perform abrasive blasting, water blasting, injection grouting, coatings, holiday test, and adhesion test.
• Consistently lead & coach others on STAC meetings.
• Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Assess conditions & issues accurately and determine suitable corrective action. Report said corrective actions to the superintendent.
• Identify and manage the personal needs of their team.
• Earn the respect of the team.
• Communicate effectively with the Senior Technician & Superintendent.
• Understand the schedule requirements of the project and the cost impacts of their actions.
• Manage the skillsets of their team and utilize them effectively.
• Motivate their team to perform.
• Lead by example: First through the door.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Ability to safely drive a pickup truck with a trailer attached.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment on their jobsite.
• Source, order, and maintain inventories of consumables, PPE, and rental equipment for their project.
• Able to calibrate confined space monitoring equipment.
• Able to send equipment to appropriate vendors for repairs.
• Engage in and provide input to work planning meetings with the Superintendent.
• Confined Space Competent Person.
• 3-5 years in high-performance coating application(s).
• Previous experience in leading crew(s).
