Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a Coater Operator to set up and adjust equipment, mix coating totes, monitor viscosity, and perform quality checks on a high-speed manufacturing line.

This role on the 2nd shift (3% diff) or 3rd shift (5% diff) pays $33.64 per hour and requires a high school diploma with manufacturing experience. Candidates should be comfortable with hand and power tools and forklift operation in a fast-paced plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience as a Coater Operator or similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of lacquer types, application methods and finishing techniques.
• Familiar with hand and power tools used on the job.

Job description

What We Offer You:

$33.64 per hour. Work on 2nd Shift, with a 3 percent shift differential, or 3rd shift with a 5 percent shift differential.

Essential Job Functions:

• Set up and adjust equipment to meet specifications


• Mix tote tanks of coatings, add solvents, maintain viscosity, and wash up as needed


• Conduct quality checks and reacts appropriately to the results


• Operate in-plant mobile equipment, such as lift trucks, to move material to and from storage areas

Job Requirements:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills


• Proficient with hand tools


• Good understanding of general workplace hazards and knowledge of proper safety practices in a high-speed manufacturing environment

Experience / Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Strongly prefer at least two years of prior manufacturing experience


• Proven experience as a Coater Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment


• Strong knowledge of lacquer types, application methods, and finishing techniques


• Familiar with the use of hand and power tools used on the job

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods of time
