Job summary

Silgan Containers in Hammond, Indiana is seeking a Coater Operator for 2nd or 3rd shift. The position pays $33.64 per hour with a 3 percent shift differential on 2nd shift and 5 percent on 3rd shift, reflecting the demanding fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will set up and adjust coating equipment to meet specifications, mix tote tanks, maintain viscosity, perform quality checks, and operate in-plant lift trucks to move material.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strongly prefer at least two years of prior manufacturing experience.
• Proven experience as a Coater Operator or similar role in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of lacquer types, application methods, and finishing techniques.
• Familiar with the use of hand and power tools used on the job.

What We Offer You:

$33.64 per hour. Work on 2nd Shift, with a 3 percent shift differential, or 3rd shift with a 5 percent shift differential.

Essential Job Functions:

Job Requirements:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills


• Proficient with hand tools


• Good understanding of general workplace hazards and knowledge of proper safety practices in a high-speed manufacturing environment

Experience / Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Strongly prefer at least two years of prior manufacturing experience


• Proven experience as a Coater Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment


• Strong knowledge of lacquer types, application methods, and finishing techniques


• Familiar with the use of hand and power tools used on the job

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods of time
