Job summary

Silgan Specialty Packaging LLC is seeking a dependable operator to support our high-volume packaging lines. You will monitor machine performance, perform quality checks, and ensure correct counting and labeling of packaged products.

The role requires strict adherence to safety rules and strong attention to detail to prevent nonconformities. The position involves preparing papers for the next shift, maintaining printers and labelers, and keeping the work area clean and organized.

Responsibilities

• Monitor machine operation to collect parts into storage boxes and ensure correct counts.

• Maintain ink in printers and labels in labelers; un-jam assemblers as needed.
• Tape and label boxes, stack for shipment, and prepare end-of-shift paperwork.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety rules.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all the duties listed below; Monitor machine operation to ensure parts are collected into storage boxes and are counted correctly. Pull shots for quality checks following machine re-starts or as needed. Identify nonconformities and inform the Shift QA. Evaluate product to ensure high quality and conformance with established standards. Report any food safety and quality problems or concerns. Evaluate and document machine performance. Maintain ink in printers and labels in labelers. Un-jam assemblers as needed. Tape boxes shut, label the boxes, and stack for shipment. Prepare paperwork at the end of the shift for the following shift, noting any problems or exceptions that occurred. Maintain a clean and safe working area. Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary. Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures
