Job summary

Sora Resource Group seeks a Director of Coastal Engineering and Waterfronts to lead the firm’s waterfronts and coastal engineering practice. The role shapes long-term strategy, drives market expansion, and guides multidisciplinary teams to deliver resilient waterfront solutions.

The position reports to the leadership team, requires 15+ years in the field, and expects strong client development, regulatory insight, and technical excellence. Travel to client sites and project locations is expected.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of waterfront, coastal, or marine engineering with leadership responsibilities.
• PE license required; additional credentials (D.PE, PMP, CFM) are desirable.
• Proven success leading practice groups, business units, or major market sectors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Waterfronts Practice, aligning with firmwide goals.
• Lead annual budgeting, staffing plans, revenue forecasting, and financial performance oversight.
• Oversee technical design reviews, engineering calculations, and deliverables.
• Guide regulatory permitting and market development initiatives with clients and agencies.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers, planners, designers, and project managers.
