Job summary

City of Galveston is seeking a Bus Driver to operate fixed-route buses and shuttles, serving residents and visitors along established schedules.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a Texas Class A or B CDL with endorsement, and at least one year of driving passenger buses or vans. Candidates must maintain safety, assist passengers, and complete required reports.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of experience operating passenger buses or vans.
• Valid Texas CDL Class A or B with endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Drive buses and vans on fixed routes, collect fares, and provide transfers.
• Inspect vehicles before and after routes and report issues.
• Assist passengers getting on/off and ensure seating safety.
• Prepare activity and revenue reports; drop vaults and count daily revenue.
• May perform dispatch duties and provide schedule information.
