Job summary

The Operations Supervisor at Fort De Soto Park leads the Environmental Program, guiding natural resource management, habitat restoration, and integrated vegetation management while ensuring ecological integrity of a premier coastal park.

You will oversee field crews, equipment, and contractors, coordinate projects under state and federal regulations, and work with park rangers to maintain trails, beaches, and infrastructure while protecting resources.

Qualifications

  • Experience in environmental operations, conservation, natural resource management, or related field with leadership experience.
  • Educational credentials listed above may satisfy requirements.
  • High School diploma or GED with 3 years of relevant experience; Associate’s degree +1 year; Bachelor’s degree with related experience; or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Environmental Program personnel and activities across Fort De Soto Park.
  • Plan and evaluate daily/weekly/seasonal work schedules to meet goals.
  • Oversee operation and safe use of heavy equipment and vehicles.
  • Coordinate environmental projects including invasive species control and habitat restoration.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and park policies.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and manage inventory.
