Job summary

La Bahia Hotel & Spa is seeking a diligent Steward to join our kitchen team. This role focuses on dishwashing, maintaining clean workstations, and supporting chefs to ensure a spotless, organized kitchen while adhering to sanitation standards.

Ideal candidates will have 2 years of experience, endurance to stand long hours, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Join our beachfront property known for exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Endurance to stand for long periods and walk moderate distances.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible to work in different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Highly organized with strong multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans.
• Operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
• Store clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in assigned areas.
• Maintain clean and orderly kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Stock supplies in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Sweep and wash floors and clean trash cans.
• Sort and remove trash to designated pickup areas.
• Assist with food preparation during staffing shortages or peak periods.
• Aim to improve guest satisfaction and uphold service standards.
• Follow sustainability guidelines under the Green Key program.
• Practice safe work habits and wear required safety equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
