Jamaica Bay Inn in Marina del Rey is seeking a Cook I to bring our island-inspired menus to life. You’ll prepare ingredients, cook to recipes, and maintain a clean, organized station while delivering a guest-friendly experience.

As part of the kitchen team, you will operate commercial equipment, monitor temperatures and portions, follow safety logs, and communicate clearly with colleagues. The role requires at least 1 year of kitchen experience and attention to detail; benefits include 401(k)

Qualifications

• 1+ year of cooking or kitchen experience.
• Ability to follow recipes and presentation standards.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, weighing and measuring.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, checklists, and presentation standards.
• Prepare hot and cold items with proper portions and presentation.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Monitor food quality, cooking times and temperatures.
• Follow food safety standards and maintain logs.
• Set up and break down workstation; keep areas clean and sanitized.
• Use protective equipment and safe kitchen practices.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen team and management.
• Support other team members and departments as needed.
