Job summary

AEP Service Corporation is hiring a Coal Equipment Operator (CEO) in West Virginia. You will operate, clean, lubricate and perform minor repairs on coal-handling equipment such as conveyors, cranes, and locomotives, ensuring safe and efficient movement of coal and materials.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or technical degree and related military/utility experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning work on the coal conveyor system, bunkers, runways, trip room, belt decks, barge unloading equipment, coal docks and barges, tunnels and work areas.
• Load, unload and handle coal, materials, supplies and equipment; couple/uncouple railroad cars; set/release brakes; signal locomotive operator; flag traffic; haul and move materials; clean debris; dig ditches; work on tracks; replace lights.
• Clean and perform lubrication and minor repairs on equipment.
• Secure, identify and transport coal samples as directed.
• Inspect fire equipment as assigned.
• Operate mobile equipment to assist offloading fuel trucks and other deliveries.
• Report irregularities to supervision; assist training other employees; perform similar or less skilled work.
