Job summary

AEP is hiring an Equipment Operator Junior in New Haven, WV to perform semi-skilled maintenance and operating duties for power plant operation. You will work across operations, maintenance, or coal yard tracks, including cleaning, testing, and minor repairs while following safety rules.

The role requires an associate degree or equivalent, a valid State driver's license, and ability to work rotating shifts. Training and testing such as POSS and MASS are part of the progression path.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering, industrial or energy technology, or equivalent experience.
• Valid State driver's license required.
• Ability to stand or walk up to 12 hours and perform physical tasks.
• Must pass POSS and MASS tests and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Isolate, clean, inspect, and maintain strainers, exchangers and dust collectors.
• Operate and service portable power tools; keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Monitor and test plant equipment; identify abnormal conditions and report them.
