Vitalant is hiring an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to support the Coagulation Lab in Pittsburgh, PA. This part-time role focuses on routine and specialized coagulation testing, including PT/INR, aPTT, fibrinogen, D-dimer, and thrombin time, with emphasis on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

You will perform mixing studies, coagulation factor assays, and von Willebrand testing as applicable, plus instrument maintenance and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized coagulation testing according to established laboratory procedures.
• Performs testing including PT/INR, aPTT, fibrinogen, D-dimer, and thrombin time.
• Performs and evaluates mixing studies and other follow-up testing for abnormal coagulation results.
• Performs coagulation factor assays and von Willebrand testing as applicable to laboratory services.
• Performs routine instrument maintenance, calibration, reagent preparation, and quality control.
