Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking an Age Group Swim Coach to oversee 12 and Under programming, develop season plans, and mentor junior coaches.

You will coordinate practice schedules, attend meets, manage volunteers, and ensure inclusive programming that supports short course and long course opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Competitive swimming experience for a minimum of 4 years preferred.
• YMCA and USA Swimming coaching credentials or certification within 30 days of hire.
• Current Lifeguard certifications or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Oversees age group programming (12 and Under) and coaches accordingly.
• Communicate with 12 and Under members and parents regularly.
• Assist with building season plans (meets) and implement with others.
• Manage coaching schedules and vacation coverage to ensure year‑round programming.
• Coordinate practice schedules, meets, recruitment and retention of participants.

Additional responsibilities include training of staff; curriculum development; and adhering to all regulatory and Association standards.
