Job summary

Alpha reimagines the school day by pairing veteran public-school teachers with Alpha-guides to run a full classroom together in Springfield, MA or Houston, TX. This in-person role is a long-term W2 position with a compensation level of $100,000 USD per year.

As a guide, you will focus on motivating students, building a culture of ownership, and delivering project-based workshops that foster future-ready skills, while your partner teacher leads day-to-day instruction.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as the primary teacher responsible for a full-size public-school classroom.
• Experience leading, coaching, or developing other educators in a public-school setting.
• Experience personally designing and delivering a project-based learning unit from the ground up.
• Demonstrated ability to build a classroom culture based on student ownership, clear expectations, accountability, and motivation.
• Willingness and ability to work in person at a participating public school in Springfield, Massachusetts, or Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Running the classroom alongside a district teacher: Co-own the day, student outcomes, and classroom culture.
• Building a student-led culture: Use clear goals, live data, relationships, peer accountability, and incentives.
• Designing project-based learning: Create original workshops that develop future-ready skills through hands-on projects.
• Coaching through action: Model Alpha practices and give timely feedback to help the partner teacher build confidence.
• Acting on student data daily: Track student engagement and learning pace, then adjust approaches based on data.
