Job summary

Alpha is hiring in-person instructional leaders to work alongside district teachers in public schools in Springfield, MA or Houston, TX. The role focuses on partnering with a classroom teacher to implement Alpha’s mastery-based learning model and develop student ownership and motivation.

You will design workshops, model Alpha practices in real time, and coach the partner teacher to progressively run more of the model independently by year-end.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as the primary teacher responsible for a full-size public-school classroom.
• Experience leading, coaching, or developing other educators in a public-school setting.
• Experience designing and delivering a project-based learning unit from the ground up.
• Ability to build a classroom culture based on ownership, clear expectations, accountability, and motivation.
• Willingness to work in person at a participating public school in Springfield, MA or Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Deliver strong student outcomes in a full public-school classroom while helping a district teacher run Alpha's model.
• Co-own the day, student outcomes, and classroom culture with a district teacher.
• Design project-based workshops to develop future-ready skills through hands-on projects.
• Coach in the moment, share effective practices, and build the partner teacher's confidence and skill.
• Act on student data daily, tracking engagement and learning pace and adjusting accordingly.
