Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Endorsements in SM - Learning Disabilities, SE- Emotional Impairment, or SV- Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred.
• Ability to manage time, self-directed.
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Patience to work with diverse populations and language barriers.
• Experience with data driven decision making.
• Familiar with the common core standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate & course planning, skill assessment, & instruction.
• Implement the common core essential elements.

• Administer and develop subject-specific assessments to assess competency and develop learning plans.
• Assess student progress toward objectives and provide feedback to students, parents and administration.

• Manage student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records as required by policy and regulations.
• Accommodate learning disabilities with district specialist support as needed.
