Fitzgerald Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Co-Taught Teacher for Chatterton Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role emphasizes collaboration with a SPED colleague and implementing the common core elements across core content areas.

The teacher will participate in curriculum planning, professional development, and ongoing assessment to support diverse learners, while maintaining compliant records and contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Formación

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsements.
• Ability to manage time and be self-directed.
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Patience to work with diverse populations and language barriers.
• Experience with data driven decision making.
• Familiar with the common core standards.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate on course planning, skill assessment, and instruction.
• Implement Common Core essential elements.
• Participate in professional development and apply best practices.

• Administers and develops assessments to monitor student progress.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to families and administration.
• Instruct students to improve academics through a defined course of study.
• Manage student behavior for a safe learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records as required by policy and regulations.
• Accommodate learning disabilities with district specialists as needed.
• Participate in co-teaching with a special education teacher.
• Encourage students to maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Performs other duties as assigned by administration.
