Job summary

Textron Systems seeks a Software Engineer Co-Op (Uncrewed Land & Air) in Hunt Valley, MD for the summer. You will contribute to the full software development life cycle in a mid-sized team focused on military vehicle systems development.

The role requires pursuing a CS/CE/CIS/MIS degree, with preference for hardware-software integration and experience with Linux/Windows development environments. The schedule includes a compressed week with some Fridays off, and U.S.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science/computer engineering/CIS/MIS or related field.
• Experience with hardware and software integration is preferred but not required.
• Experience with standard communications protocols (TCP, UDP, CAN, Serial) preferred but not required
• Experience with software management tools such as Mercurial, Git, Jira preferred but not required
• Experience with Linux and Windows development environments preferred
• Ability to work 40 hours/week (This schedule is on a combination 5/8, 4/10, with every other Friday off!)
• This position requires an individual to be a U.S citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Tasks related to the full software development life cycle including design, development, build, integration, test, and delivery.
• Working within a medium-sized software development team on tasks related to military vehicle system development
