Job summary

MilliporeSigma is seeking a co-op to join our Research & Development team in Indianapolis. The role provides hands-on experience supporting capital projects, facility upgrades, equipment installations, and continuous improvement in a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

The selected candidate will work with project managers, engineers, and operations personnel to deliver projects for manufacturing, utility systems, laboratory operations, and regulatory compliance, while

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively in a team environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Professionalism and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Interest in project management, engineering design, and pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Support project engineers and project managers in planning, executing, and closing capital and expense projects.
Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Participate in field walks, construction coordination meetings, and project status reviews.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation.
Create and update engineering drawings and layouts using AutoCAD.
Assist with equipment installation planning, commissioning, and qualification activities.
Coordinate with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, validation, and safety teams to support project execution.
Develop project documentation including meeting minutes, action item logs, and progress reports.
Track project milestones, deliverables, and project risks.
Support contractor coordination and monitor project activities for compliance with safety and quality requirements.
Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
Perform data analysis and prepare presentations for engineering and leadership teams
