Job summary

Axcelis is seeking Manufacturing Test Development Engineer Co-ops for a 6‑month assignment at the Beverly, MA facility. You will design, develop, and support test equipment used in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and work with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with modeling software such as SolidWorks /Creo or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with schematic and PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad , QElectroTech.
• Familiarity with fabrication tools such as calipers, hand tools, 3d printing, etc.
• Familiarity with measurement tools and equipment such as DMM's, Oscilloscopes, Data acquisition systems (DAQ), etc.
• Experience with project management tools such as Gantt charts, Microsoft Project/Planner, etc.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, build, validate , and maintain electrical and mechanical manufacturing test solutions, including automated test equipment and custom test fixtures.
• Leverage manual, subtractive, and additive manufacturing tools and techniques to meet fixture design and performance requirements.
• Collaborate with teammates across engineering disciplines, relying on their diverse skill sets to accomplish shared project goals.
• Analyze test data to identify failure modes, root causes, and process variations.
• Perform hardware-level debugging of test systems, including instrumentation and interfaces.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, design, process, and quality engineering teams to meet fixture design requirements of all shareholders.
• Create and maintain detailed test documentation, procedures, and reports.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase test coverage, throughput, and repeatability.
