Job summary

Axcelis is seeking a Manufacturing Test Development Engineer Co-op in Beverly, MA. You will gain hands‑on experience designing, developing, and supporting test equipment used in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, working with cross‑functional teams to ensure products meet quality, performance, and reliability standards.

This 6‑month assignment offers real project work, mentorship, and a path into future engineering roles, plus a travel stipend to assist commuting to our Beverly facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or similar.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks/Creo or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad, QElectroTech.
• Familiarity with fabrication tools like calipers, 3D printing, etc.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, build, validate, and maintain electrical and mechanical test solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet fixture design requirements.
• Analyze test data to identify failure modes and root causes.
• Perform hardware-level debugging of test systems and interfaces.
• Create and maintain detailed test documentation and procedures.
• Support continuous improvement to increase test coverage and throughput.
• Contribute to quality and reliability of products.
