Job summary

Books-A-Million is seeking a Co-Manager to oversee day-to-day store operations as a Manager On Duty, collaborating with the management team to maximize sales and service. You will drive merchandising execution while maintaining store standards and policy adherence.

The role emphasizes people leadership, training, scheduling, and in-store security, with strong customer service and operational accountability.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
• Previous experience in a supervisor role.
• Successful background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Maximizes profits and customer service by leading assigned category team and operating the store in adherence with all Company policy and guidelines.
• Operates the store as the Manager On Duty with the management team.
• Maintains security of the store; is a key-holding member of management.
• Ensures highest level of customer service and resolves complaints.
• Maintains merchandising, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
• Trains and develops Associates and Leads.
• Facilitates daily briefings and meetings for staff.
• Drops off bank deposits and handles cash as needed.
• Picks up café grocery supplies as needed.
• Consults with the General Manager on associate performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
