Job summary

Journeys is seeking a Store Manager in Training to support recruiting, hiring, training, and guiding a sales team to meet store goals. You’ll help control expenses, protect assets, and deliver a high-energy, teen-focused shopping experience.

Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong customer service skills, and the drive to grow within a fast-paced environment. Night and weekend shifts and a 45-hour week are required.

Qualifications

• Prior retail management experience preferred.
• 6–12 months retail sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment.
• Willingness to learn.
• Completion of training programs leading to Co-Manager or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance.
• Assist in recruiting and hiring of high caliber employees with in-store needs.
• Assist in training and developing a successful sales team.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by enforcing policies.
• Ensure that all company initiatives are properly implemented and aligned with company direction.
• Supervise and manage all daily store operations in absence of Store Manager and Manager In Training.
• Support Loss Prevention practices in absence of Store Manager and Manager In Training.
• Communicate store needs to Store Manager and Manager In Training.
• Resolve customer issues effectively and provide a full-service experience.
