Job summary

Child Care Resources Inc. through the Augustana Early Learning Center in Colorado seeks a Lead Preschool Teacher who is nurturing, energetic and passionate about guiding preschoolers in a safe, stimulating environment.

You will assist in developing a creative curriculum, nurture each child's well-being, document progress for families, and collaborate with a supportive team to meet Colorado licensing standards and a high standard of care.

Qualifications

• This position requires the physical ability to engage with children at their level, including kneeling, squatting, bending and sitting on the ground.
• Able to work with children in classroom and outdoor playground settings.
• Comfortable soothing children new to group care and comforting them when crying.
• Regular attendance is essential for this position.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs.
• Have completed Lead Teacher coursework or are currently working toward completing it.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and executing a creative curriculum suitable for preschool children.
• Nurture each child's well-being and support their learning.
• Facilitate daily development of the children (storytelling, music, educational play, etc.).
• Observe each child to increase social competencies and build self-esteem at age appropriate levels.
• Encourage children to interact positively with other similarly aged children.
• Organize nap and meal hours and supervise children to ensure they are always safe.
• Responsible for hygiene practices for children (washing hands, bathroom procedures, snacks and lunches).
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe classroom environment in line with health and safety standards.
• Responsible for sanitary conditions in the classrooms (washing tables, toys, chairs, and learning centers).
• Daily communication with parents about their child.
• Familiar with Colorado licensing rules and regulations for Child Care Centers.
