Job summary

YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a Preschool Lead Teacher to provide direction for the program and classroom, implementing curriculum and ensuring safety procedures are followed. The role involves supervising the classroom and Assistant Teachers, maintaining records, and building strong relationships with families.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a related field and meets CDHS ECT qualifications, with at least one year of supervisory experience working with preschoolers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent; must meet ECT qualifications through CDHS.
• Minimum 1 year experience supervising Preschool/Kindergarten children.
• Within 30 days of hire, complete Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum within established guidelines and designs daily lesson plans.
• Supervises children and classroom activities; supports Assistant Teachers.
• Maintains program records, registrations, and medications; communicates with parents.
• Engages families in program activities and events; attends family nights and staff meetings.
• Assists in safety, site upkeep, and compliance with health department requirements.
