Qualifications

• Experience coaching adolescent age students in competitive sports.
• Meets all Rhode Island/state requirements and district policies.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
• NFHS coaching courses completed (safety and ethics).
• BCI/background check updated as required.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa status as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants, small groups and teams in skills for success.
• Supervises individual team members and teams at all times.
• Keeps current with sport rules and district policies.
• Monitors academic performance and stresses the importance of academics.
• Acts as a role model, respects officials and maintains composure.
• Coordinates with athletic director and other coaches on practices and games.
• Informs athletic director about facilities, equipment and uniforms.
• Communicates with the athletic director about team issues and activities.
• Notifies of any safety concerns and maintains safe conditions.
• Delegates duties to assistants and volunteers as needed.
• Performs other duties defined by athletic director and principal.
